And not just Muslims. Like me. Nothing from that surveillance had indicated the need for early arrests."

Why should denial of holocaust is a crime - it's not a crime at all. It's your wish what you'll claim. And drawing a few cartoons too are not crimes in the same scale [:)].

Clash of Islam and Liberalism - I disagree. Indians are not at all liberal and yet targetted by terrorists. And, Liberalism is not what USA abroad [:)]. I saw an article in TOI, which says that USA will fail in this War against Terror, but they'll succeed in upgrading themselves in the process.

For your info - denial of holocaust is legally a crime in many european countries whereas drawing a few cartoon is not. I hope you see the difference now.

The 'clash' article discusses, i think, cultural dispute rather than territorial dispute. There are 'terrorist activities' all around the world and most of them are because of various territorial and political disputes. Now this is different from cultural dispute. We usually mix up the two different ideas (The article has done the same mistake to some extent). I think the cultural dispute has given birth to cold war in present time rather than actual military war. In terms of the 'cold war', the article does point to few important characteristics of two different 'systems'. I will discuss those in detail in future.

The 'clash' article discusses, i think, cultural dispute rather than territorial dispute - yeah correct. You've pointed out the correct one.

For your info - denial of holocaust is legally a crime in many european countries whereas drawing a few cartoon is not - I know, that's sad part. I know only a handful of Nations offer their citizens full freedom of speech.

Also the so called double standards are part of all the nations, because the laws of the nation cater to their own people. If people of a country decide that Holocaust denial is an offence they can make laws on it. Some other countries may find paintings of godess or carttons of prophets offendable. But, all these process might hinder their progress of free speech, which is the ultimate goal.
