"In khadi we have designer sarees, short kameez with patiala salwar and churidaars, short and long jackets for women and for men there are shirts, kurtas, flair pants to choose from," says Aneela, a Bangladeshi designer who was here for an exhibition with her latest bridal collection.

" Khadi is in vogue in Bangladesh and many designers are experimenting with it," she says. Starting with Rs. 3,000 the prices reach upto 50,000. One can see a combination of the embroidered and the printed stuff on the clothes, "I have tried to strike a balance between the embroided and the printed .. one can also see printing poetry in Bangla and French on my clothes and moreover I use the Nakshi Kanta stitch (a kind of stitching pattern in Bangladesh)."
