Let me slap you and test your patience
“Jyllands-Posten called for and printed the cartoons by various Danish illustrators, after reports that artists were refusing to illustrate works about Islam, out of fear of fundamendalist retribution. The newspaper said it printed the cartoons as a test of whether Muslim fundamentalists had begun affecting the freedom of expression in Denmark.”
Freedom of expression ? Well it seems Freedom of expression has turned out to be a weapon of racial/religious hatred by 'modern' people in many countries (Bangladesh is no exception !) . It's interesting to see how they have played their cards. Rewind and let's read again :
"The newspaper said it printed the cartoons as a test of whether Muslim fundamentalists had begun affecting the freedom of expression in Denmark.”
Recently a Norwegian newspaper has done the same - published the cartoons on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I guess they are doing the same test - let me slap you and test your patience ! You are not suppose to show any anger - if you do , you are fundamentalist or atleast terrorist !!
The Muslim world has responded strongly to the publication of the cartoons in the Danish newspaper. Many Muslim countries have banned Danish products, sent protest letters to the Danish embassies but till now no apology or action from Danish authorities. I mean , why should they ? It's freedom of expression for goodness sake ! There is no right or wrong in the world now, it's only power. The powerful and rich have decided to bash Islam ; there's no way out mate - you Muslims are doomed !
Denmark faces international boycott over Muslim cartoons
“So now what are we going to do? ... Replace the anti-Semitic prejudice with anti-Islamic prejudice?” - Bill Clinton said at a conference in Doha.
“In Europe, most of the struggles we’ve had in the past 50 years have been to fight prejudices against Jews, to fight against anti-Semitism,” he said.
He described the 12 cartoons in the Danish newspapers as "appalling".
“None of us are totally free of stereotypes about people of different races, different ethnic groups, and different religions ... there was this appalling example in northern Europe, in Denmark ... these totally outrageous cartoons against Islam,”
If you are just wondering what the cartoons are like lets have a look :

As a mark of respect to the billions of Muslims world wide I have decided to remove the images.
"Their intention is to extinguish Allah's light (by blowing) with their mouths. But Allah will complete His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). Al Qur'an 61:8

We call this "Freedom of Speech". I don't expect the islamic world to be able to practice this kind of progress in their own culture (though everyone who has to live there without wanting it deserves my deepest sympathy) - but this is the way things are in Europe. We will not give in to islamofascistic demands. You will stop buying danish products? You've got all rights to do that. From today on I will try to make up for that by buying more danish products than ever before. BTW, you might want to take a look at caricatures from arabian newspapers .
I have some questions for you. Why do some Muslims get so easily offended by someone else's opinion? It's not a slap - it's a picture. And it does you no harm, except the harm you do yourself when you react with anger. By reacting in this way, the cartoons have been exposed to a vastly wider audience. I certainly would never have bothered with reading a silly Danish newspapers publicity stunt. Why are you extending the 'insult' by publishing the cartoons? Doesn't that mean you're as liable for the insult?
Even assuming there's agreement that the behaviour was wrong, why should a state apologise for the behaviour of some of its members? Many murderers and rapists have come from Denmark, yet the state hasn't apologised for those. It would be silly to. What makes this far more innocuous crime any worse?
the anonymous'! It's not about us, Muslim gettng offended, it's about you non-Muslim losing respect for yourselves.
With that said, I would ask the blogger (Rashedin) to put down these pictures. I understand your stand/emotion behind it, but I guess as a Muslim, you should not take part in propagating the picture. Don't link to where it goes, and don't put them up for yourself.
Remember, there was this one hadith (I don't remember exactly) talking about how the people who hated the Prophet would twist his name Muhammad, and used to call him something else. Our Prophet (pbuh) didn't get offended, neither did he start a petition or anything. You know what he said? He said, they are calling "whatever the twisted name they were using", that's not me, my name is Muhammad (pbuh). We have something to take from that Hadith. Whatever the picture is, that's not our Prophet (pbuh). These people need to be more intelligent and more important in my life to offend me and my belief. Otherwise, it doesn't count what the fools say.
Saying all these, please please please, take these pistures down.
JazakAllah Khair
Exactly what I was thinking, I am one of those who don't know very much about your religion. While visiting Jordan last year I met people who became good friends and learned a bit. By no means enough or a lot. What makes me confused, while trying to understand, is that it is fine for you to publish the pictures globally on your blog but not for a Danish newspaper locally in Denmark. My understanding was that no pictures of any kind of the Prophet Muhammad should be published. One thing is for people who have different belief and not the same understanding, but for a Muslim who knows exactly what he is doing and whom he is hurting that is something I don't understand. It would be good to have an explanation for us who are not interested in offending but to understand.
To Anon: I see that you don't want to express yourself and prefers to remain anonymous ! I don't usually respond to ignorant people and I guess I will do this time due to popular request.
The West in general is ignorant about Islam and they have no respect for the religion (not only Islam). Now the trouble is Muslim people are still very much religious. This is mainly where the conflict is. To you "Freedom" is everything and you don't consider that there could be a group to whom "religion" is everything(you call them fundamentalists, backwards, uncivilised and so on). You have lost respect for us but you still demand that Muslims should respect you. Even Freedom needs a boundary - get that in your head !
No , I am not responsible for the insult caused to billions of Muslims worldwide. In this age, nothing is "local" - especially the media is certainly not. The Danish newspaper created the cartoons intentionally and those pictures are available all over the internet now. Today most European papers have also published the cartoons. It's strange that instead of condemning the 'act' you are blaming a Muslim for the insult. Without seeing the cartoons one cannot feel the extent of insult/freedom of racism some people in West practices against Muslims. Everybody has the right to know the 'information' as you have the right to make insulting arts.
Yes I felt bad when I published those pictures in my blog and I promise I will remove those pictures soon.
Take care you all !
salam,
Okay just to make sure I had not com eacross offensive to anyone: the reason I asked you put the pictures down was only so that you don't contribute to this propagation. For example, I for one, got to see these pictures from your blog first. So I thought it may only conribute to this.
Also, I am glad that some boycotting took place and even things got so serious that DAnish companies had to complain to their government. But I wish we did this boyoctting for something more serious liek Palestine issue or such. Not that this insult of our Prophet (pbuh) is not serious. But as long as I remember that hadith I mentioned before, I need to tell ya: those cartoons do not represent our Prophet 9pbuh) and I guess we need to approach non-Muslims in a beautiful manner through paitnece and constancy.
To answer Lara's question. I guess it's simply common sense that any misrepresentation of anything (be it culture, nation, or religion) is an offense. Think about it. If someone calls you a b**ch, how would you feel? You would be offended first because you are human, not an animal and second this word has a nasty connotation. But we can definitely call Dog a dog and that's fine because a dog is a dog and there is no offense in it. I guess, it's no rocket science that those cartoons were produced to offend people (both Muslims and conscious non-Muslims). But as the blogger said, ti's really to test our patience. A test from God. We love our Prophet (pbuh) more than we love our parents, and a Muslim is not a complete Muslim until he/he proclaims that love. And out of that passion, it's expected that people will react such a way. But I hope muslims will remember to live life through our Prophet's example and look at the result of all this? At the end of the day, Denmark lost a lot in this game. 1.3 billion Muslims aroun the world. It's for your safety not to rile them up, like this. Allah and Prophets and Quran, three undisputable subjects for which you find too much divisions among the Muslims and they will unite. All other issues, you may find divisions among ourselves but when it comes down Allah, the Messenger and the Quran, things will be different, and Muslims will unite.
nice to read your blog.

I would like to point your own double standards.
In an earlier post http://rashedin.blogspot.com/2005/12/naughty-tagore.html
you "insulted" Rabindranath Tagore. When a reader Saurabh protested, you insisted that Tagore was not YOUR national hero and so you had the right to portray him anyway you wanted.
Cant Jyllandes Posten claim that Muhammad (PBUH) is not THEIR prophet and its not their business that you were offended?
Jyllandes Posten along with many free thinkers has already claimed that it's their freedom of speech. Muhammad (PBUH) is a prophet to billions of Muslims all over the world. Religious beliefs are different to personal beliefs. Secular people don't get that and they never will. They have cornered religion to a personal level and that's why they are not bothered to insult it.
Another thing, I haven't implied or claimed that Tagore is a thief or a man of loose character rather it's a non-sense funny sketch. In case of Jyllandes Posten, the problem was that they implied that all the muslims including Muhammad are terrorists. If there's a religion called 'Tagore' and billions of people follow it , I would have thought miliion times before publishing even a simple non-sense cartoon.
There have been billions of national heroes but there are only few prophets and the 'prophets' are from GOD and a symbol of holy figure as believed by the followers. I hope you see the difference.
NATIONAL HEROES ARE NOT PROPHETS !
I sincerely hope you are educated enough to spot the difference; I rest my case now.
First of all, let me make my stand on the Danish cartoon issue clear: I condemn it, and I think it was in bad taste.
Now that we have that out of the way, lets get back to the original issue.
Your statement that "NATIONAL HEROES ARE NOT PROPHETS" is just YOUR belief. There may be other people who may regard National heroes to be ABOVE prophets. Just as Jyllandes Posten may have offended "Billions" of worshipers of a particular faith, your "non-sense" cartoon may have offended "Billions" of members of a particular nation. And when a reader did point that fact to you that he was offended, what did you do? You said it was not your business that he was offended...
If you can show a national hero as a blow-job seeker from a prostitute, there-by insinuating all Bengalis as blow-job seekers, and you refuse to apologise for it, I fail to see the difference between the actions of Jyllandes Posten and you. At least, Jyllandes Posten apologized for their offensive cartoon.
Your only argument is in distinguishing between a Religious Prophet and a National Hero. You fail to realize that, to some, their an insult to their national hero maybe as offensive as an insult to their prophet. For some. Maybe not for you. But for some.
"NATIONAL HEROES ARE NOT PROPHETS" is just YOUR belief. There MAY BE other people who may regard National heroes to be ABOVE prophets. - Anon
This is not just my belief but a belief by ALL THE MUSLIMS. I don't know which group of people that you are referring to places national heroes above prophets. It has to be a group of people that don't have or never had any prophet to follow. Hmm..let me guess...Hindus in India ?
"Jyllandes Posten may have offended "Billions" of worshipers of a particular faith, your "non-sense" cartoon may have offended "Billions" of members of a particular nation."- Anon
I can see how clever you are. Good twisting job mate ! The above should read- Jyllandes Posten HAVE offended "Billions" of worshipers of a particular faith and billions of Muslims raised their voice against it, your "non-sense" cartoon MAY HAVE offended "Billions" of members of a particular nation and only ONE PERSON protested against it !
keep using may be and may have - it really helps to win a war !
"If you can show a national hero as a blow-job seeker from a prostitute, there-by insinuating all Bengalis as blow-job seekers..."- Anon
Excuse me, but how come the cartoon anyway potrays all Bangalis as blow-job seekers ? It must be in your sick head mate. If you just want to bash Islam ..go ahead but don't use your lame excuses. By the way, are Bangali men not blow-job seekers ? Please don't use 'may be' this time. Show some statistics !
"You fail to realize that, to some, their an insult to their national hero MAY BE as offensive as an insult to their prophet. For some. MAYBE not for you. But for some. " - Maybe baby Anon
Only a serious wanker in this age can use 'maybe' so many times. Give me a break and get some references to back up your comments ! If , according to you, may be 'some' people are offended then the 'may be some' is applicable to all the cartoons and articles in the world. 'Maybe some' and 'definitely billions' are gulf apart - got that ?
Get a backbone anon and publish comments with your real name. Don't be a hidden blow job seeker..come out clean and show the world what you really are - a chicken perhaps !!?
I have read several good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I surprise how much effort you put to make such a wonderful informative web site.
